     SYHA Learn to Play Hockey!    

Shrewsbury House League 2018 Spring Session 
 
Shrewsbury Youth Hockey is offering a Spring House League session. Whether your player want to continue skating or you have a new player wanting to give hockey a try, Spring House league is FUN!! 
 
SYHA follows USA Hockey's ADM (American Development Model) for skating and hockey skill development. For the Spring Session previous previous house league or learn to skate is encouraged. Full hockey gear is required and USA Hockey registration is required for every player. If you are a current House League player, your USA Hockey number is still current.
 
The House League is the Shrewsbury Youth Hockey Association (SYHA) Learn-to-Play-Hockey program. The House League Spring Session program builds on hockey skills for children ages 4 to 9. The program focus is skating, hockey skills instruction, developing and advancing skating and hockey skills and cross ice games.
 
This is a great continuation for players to continue skating if moving to Mites for the 2018/19 hockey season. Mite player evaluations will be in April. Be sure to look for the Mite player evaluation registration under the Register Online tab coming real soon.
 
House League Spring 2018
Cost: $100/player
Location: Buffone Rink, Lake Street, Worcester, MA
Saturday mornings 8 - 9am
Sunday mornings at 8:30-9:30am

Winter 2018/19 House League

What is House League?

House League is Shrewsbury Youth Hockey's Learn to Play program. House league is for Shrewsbury's residents as well as select surrounding towns for children ages 4 to 9. No prior skating or hockey experience is required, except wanting to learn and HAVE FUN!!!  

Full hockey equipment is required for participation in House League purchased by parents. House League is held on Saturday and Sunday mornings for 16 weeks/32 hours of ice time practice. It is organized and run by fellow hockey parents just like yourself. They are volunteering their time, talent, knowledge so all the kids can learn hockey! Coaches are a mix of USA Hockey certified coaches and parent volunteers.

Coaches will be following USA Hockey's American Developmental Model (ADM) for practices which include focus on skating, small group instruction, skills, drills and cross ice instructional games. Players will be organized by abilities in different groups on the ice and will play together with like abilities.

  

House League registration includes 32 hours of ice time on

Saturday & Sunday for 16 weekends,

USA Hockey certified coaches and instruction, practice jersey and end of season ceremony.
