       SYHA Learn to Play Hockey!

House League

What is House League?

House League is Shrewsbury Youth Hockey's Learn to Play program. House league is for Shrewsbury's residents as well as select surrounding towns for children ages 4 to 9. No prior skating or hockey experience is required, except wanting to learn and HAVE FUN!!!

Full hockey equipment is required for participation in House League purchased by parents. House League is held on Saturday and Sunday mornings for 16 weeks/32 hours of ice time practice. It is organized and run by fellow hockey parents just like yourself. They are volunteering their time, talent, knowledge so all the kids can learn hockey! Coaches are a mix of USA Hockey certified coaches and parent volunteers.

Coaches will be following USA Hockey's American Developmental Model (ADM) for practices which include focus on skating, small group instruction, skills, drills and cross ice instructional games. Players will be organized by abilities in different groups on the ice and will play together with like abilities.
